I am standing at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, during coverage the oath-taking ceremony of Tarique Rahman, the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and his cabinet members.
It’s designed by architect Louis Kahn, this 200-acre complex is one of the largest legislative buildings in the world. It is accessible via major routes, with the main South Plaza facing Manik Mia Avenue.
📍Dohar is located in the southwestern part of Dhaka District, close to the Padma River. The road distance from Gulistan to Dohar is approximately 60 kilometres. The total population of Dohar, including both urban and rural areas, is around 250,000 people. Sundari Para (Sundoripara) is a village / locality in the Kushumhati Union of Dohar Upazil. Traditional cow races are very popular in at the Sundori Para playground, and generate great enthusiasm among the local public.

শীতের সকালে ফুপাতো ভাই মুকুলের সঙ্গে কাটানো মুহূর্তগুলো যেন অনন্য এক গল্প। আমরা দুজনেই প্রায় সমবয়সী এবং ভালো বন্ধু । গ্রামের বাড়িতে গেলে ওর সঙ্গ খুব উপভোগ করি আমি ।
এবারের ছুটিতে সবাইকে নিয়ে গ্রামের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে গেলে তার ব্যতিক্রম হয়নি। মুকুল এবং তার পরিবারের অসাধারন আতিথেয়তা আমাদের মুগ্ধ করেছে ।
ভোর বেলায় খেজুর গাছের রস, নানা রকম পিঠা আর মজার মজার টাটকা মাছ- ভাত খেতে অসাধারণ লেগেছে । এর সব কিছুই মাটির চুলায় রান্না করা হতো। মুকুলের দুই ছেলে সাইম এবং রাফি ছিল খুবই বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ । সাইম আমাদের জন্য রাতে মাছ দিয়ে বারবিকিউ করেছিল । সেই আয়োজনটা ছিলো খুব সুন্দর ।
ঢেউ- মেঘের জন্য রাতের বেলা গ্রামের পথে ঘুরে বেড়ানো ছিল নতুন এক অভিজ্ঞতা । ঝোনাকি পোকা দেখা, কবরস্থান থেকে শেয়ালের ডাক ভেসে আসা আরো কতো কতো অভিজ্ঞতার ঝুলি ! ওদের সেইসব গল্প না হয় অন্য কোনো এক সময় বলা যাবে ।

সকল প্রশংসা একমাত্র মহান আল্লাহর। তাঁর অশেষ রহমতে মেঘ-ঢেউ-এর মা এখন আগের চেয়ে অনেক ভালো—আলহামদুলিল্লাহ।
তীব্র শীতের সেই মধ্যরাত ! হাসপাতালের ইমার্জেন্সি, উৎকণ্ঠা আর দোয়ায় ভরা সময়—সব মিলিয়ে আমরা তখন এক কঠিন পরীক্ষার মধ্য দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলাম। ভোরে আবার অসুস্থতা, ডাক্তার দেখানো, পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা—মনে হচ্ছিল, যেন পুরো পরিবার এক গভীর ট্রমার ভেতর দিয়ে হাঁটছি। বিপদে আল্লার উপর বিশ্বাস এবং ভরসা রেখে ধৈর্য্যর পরীক্ষা দিচ্ছিলাম।
সেই মুহূর্তগুলোতে বারবার মনে পড়ছিল মা-এর কথা। ‘মা’ আমাদের জীবনের—বটবৃক্ষ । যাঁর ছায়ায় সাহস পেয়েছি, শক্তি পেয়েছি। আজ তিনি নেই। এক ঝড়ে সেই বটবৃক্ষ ঝরে গেছে। গতবছর ১৫ মে, ২০২৫। বাবার মারা যাবার পর মা-ই ছিলেন আমাদের পৃথিবী।
সন্তানের অসহায়ত্ব প্রত্যেক মা-বাবা বুঝতে পারেন । মনে হলো—তারা যেন না ফেরার দেশ থেকে আমাদের এই বিপদে এগিয়ে এসেছেন —দোয়া করছেন । মহান আল্লাহর উপর ভরসা এবং বিশ্বাস ছিল, আল্লাহ আমাদের হেফাজত করেছেন । জীবন সুখ-দুঃখের মিশেল, আর সত্য বিশ্বাসই হচ্ছে শক্তি। আল্লাহ যেন আমাদের পরিবারকে ধৈর্য ও সামর্থ্য দান করেন।
এই কঠিন সময়ে যারা পাশে ছিলেন—আত্মীয়, স্বজন, বন্ধু ও শুভানুধ্যায়ী—সবার প্রতি আমরা হৃদয়ের গভীর থেকে কৃতজ্ঞতা।
দূরত্ব আসতে পারে, নীরবতা জমতে পারে—তবুও বিপদে প্রকৃত মানুষগুলো পাশে থেকে যায়। সবার জন্য রাব্বুল আল আমিনের কাছে দোয়া । সবাই ভালো থাকুন ।

Extremely sad news to hear that legendary British documentary photographer Martin Parr—has passed away at the age of 73. He was diagnosed with cancer in May 2021.
We, the national and international photojournalists and Pathshala teachers, posed for a group photo with Anna Kuéma, Program Manager of the World Press Photo Foundation, after her insightful presentation and discussion in two separate sessions on WPP Education and the upcoming World Press Photo Contest 2025 submission guidelines, among other topics.
Cyclone Rimal has started to affect in the Dhaka city since this morning. It is torrential rain with stormy wind, water has accumulated somewhere on the streets. I put on a raincoat and went out on my motorcycle and to go to Drik for Bangladesh Press Photo Contest 2024 judging. I reached Drik on time. Other judges arrived, after a while our judging is started.
Here is my short observation about this Press Photo Contest as a judge: Photojournalists of Bangladesh participated in this Press Photo contest as they proved once again how powerful a single image is ! Which surpasses other branches of Press Media.
Its importance can be understood by looking at the award-winning pictures and the displayed pictures. Because they give new ideas to photojournalists, photo editors and newspaper editors and readers as well as those who involved in the news media industry.

WITNESS MY TIME ~ Nowadays it is difficult to visit all photography exhibition due to my professional works and duties. But I try to see the work of my favourite photographers work which is really inspires me from that reason still I visits a gallery and an open space photography exhibition.
“Rise of a Nation”— exhibition titled, I saw this photography exhibition of Indian notable photographer Raghu Rai, he also as a member of the prestigious Magnum Photos. Rai’s has been a notable figure in the documentation of the Liberation War of Bangladesh 1971.
A present exhibition he featuring both released and unreleased photos during his ventured into the war zone in 1971, walking tirelessly alongside freedom fighters and Indian forces on the battlefield. Rai’s remarkable image, which earned him the prestigious Padmashree award in 1971.
In 2012, Rai created the Raghu Rai Center for Photography to share over five decades of his knowledge and experience with the younger generation. As a photographer I want to say, many national and international photographers are inspired from his brilliant work.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, in collaboration with the Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation (DBF), exhibition curated by artist Zihan Karim. According to Ria’s bio and press release.
The exhibition is going on in Zainul Gallery at the Faculty of Fine Arts in the University of Dhaka, will continue till 19 May 2024.
