Posh Sankranti Celebrate in Old Dhaka Bangladesh

 14 Jan 2012 Dhaka. Bangladesh -Hindu community enjoys posh Sankranti with different activities as a man blows fire in the evening at old Dhaka Patla Khan Lane . Paush Shankranti’ is the last day of Bengali month Paush. This traditional festival is locally known as ‘Shakhrine’. People of the old Dhaka celebrate Shakhrine with colorful kite flying during the day and fire eating or blowing performances after dark. © Monirul Alam

Highlights of the Year 2011

I celebrated my kids [MEGH] 2nd birthday which is held on 1st July. I am very happy and really enjoy and spend times with my love ones baby.

Several times I traveled our district town covered on assignment for our news paper Prothom Alo and my works published.

I experienced to observed  a  great photographers Pedro Meyer   presentation and attend  his workshop  he is the owner of  Zone Zero Which I knows more about digital photography and photographer point of view. This presentation conduct by Pathshala & Drik during the Chobi Mela VI International Festival of Photography in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I continued my teaching at Pathshala as a lecturer which I really enjoy with met to a new students and I also participated as a guest lectures on a private televishion named Dedh Tv,the programmed name DUR PATH.

I am work with ZUMA PRESS http://www.zumapress.com/ as a contact photographer in this year on the month of September.

I think Two Thousand Twelve year will bring  peace, promises, success  and happiness to all of us and from the past year which is worst we forget it.

World Photography Day | 19 August

World Photography Day originates from the invention of the Daguerreotype, a photographic processes developed by Louis Daguerre.  On January 9, 1839, The French Academy of Sciences announced the daguerreotype process. A few months later, on August 19, 1839, the French government announced the invention as a gift “Free to the World.”

Another photographic processes, the Calotype, was also invented in 1839 by William Fox Talbot (it was announced in 1841). Together, the invention of both the Daguerreotype and Calotype mark 1839 as the year that photography was invented.

View from the Window at Le Gras, the first successful permanent photograph created by Nicéphore Niépce in 1826, Saint-Loup-de-Varennes. Captured on 20 × 25 cm oil-treated bitumen. Due to the 8-hour exposure, the buildings are illuminated by the sun from both right and left.
