BNP Protest Rally in Dhaka (news)

02 May 2012 Dhaka, Bangladesh- Bangladeshi Police watch during the BNP protest at Nayapalton  Dhaka. The main opposition party BNP hold a protest rally at Nayapaltan in the capital on Wednesday. BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed made the announcement his party will stage countrywide demonstrations on Sunday to mount pressure on the government to trace its missing leader M Ilias Ali. He also demands immediate withdrawal of the cases. The filing cases are not going to weaken BNP s protest. The government will fall down through the movement according to the local media report. © Monirul Alam

12 March 2012 Dhaka Bangladesh- Thousands of BNP supporter attend a grand rally in front of the party’s central office at Nayapaltan on Monday. The opposition has called a dawn-to-dusk country wide strike for March 29 protesting the government attempts to bar its leaders and activists from joining Monday’s grand rally in the city and demands for impartial oversight of elections set for 2014. © Monirul Alam
