© Monirul Alam

His face is painted with a holistic color ! he wears a very colorful dress and holding a flute- his heads put in a jewelry cap, and he covered with a symbolic snake; finally he sits in a basket with a marigolds flower. Hundred of devotes surround him, performed devotes sang with a traditional music and instrument.

He is little bit confused and silent may be he understand what is happened surrounding him. Yes, today’s he is symbol of child Lord SRI KRISNA. KRISNA is considered eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu’s, one of three major Hindu gods, on earth of Hindu community.

I was there to covered an assignment, thousands of people present there to joined a Janmashtami rally, suddenly my eye attracted him, I observed and taken pictures. During my  long observation I find an interesting things- some time he is enjoy with his colorful flute,  he grab an apple some time he look around finding his mother and finally is crying, after a while he is smiling with his mother lap.

Hindu devotees throughout the world celebrate Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Hindu God Lord Krishna with enormous zeal and enthusiasm. Children and adults dress as the Hindu God Krishna and his consort Radha in bright, elaborate costumes and jewelry.

In the capital thousand of men, women and children joined the historical Janmashtami rally and procession brought out from  Dhakeswari Temple in Old Dhaka. The days aimed festivity and religious fervor across the country.

According to the Hindu faith, Krishna, the incarnation of God, descended to this world some 5,500 years ago with a vow to establish love, truth and justice. Devotees on this day celebrate his birth on earth. Lord Sri Krishna was born in the ‘Rohini’ nakshatram (star) to King Vasudeva and Devaki Devi on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Sravana.

Sri Krishna is considered eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu’s, one of three major Hindu gods, on earth. He is considered to be the Lord’s most glorious incarnation.

Sri Krishna was a manifestation of joy at all levels and in all walks of life. No other gods in the Hindu pantheon, for that matter in any other religion, is associated with so many romantic tales and so fully radiating with all the divine attributes as Sri Krishna.
