Street People Keeping Warm in Dhaka

 Dec. 23, 2011 – Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bangladeshi street people warm themselves with fire in a cold  wave in Dhaka city. A cold blast has been sweeping across the country, leaving the homeless, elderly and babies vulnerable to the ravages of the winds and quite unable to cope with the calling of daily life. According to the local media report in the last four days, at least 27 people died of cold-related afflictions in Thakurgaon, Jamalpur, Jessore, Rangpur and Satkhira district.© Monirul Alam http://monirul.photoshelter.com/

 1 Dec. 2011- Dhaka – Three boats cross the bank of the Buriganga river in the winter morning Old Dhaka. November through February is the winter season in Bangladesh. Average temperatures in January vary from about 11°C in the northwestern and northeastern parts of the country to 20°C to 21°C in the coastal areas. Northern Bangladesh is cooler than southern Bangladesh, with occasional cold spells that claim lives.
