I am standing at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, during coverage the oath-taking ceremony of Tarique Rahman, the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and his cabinet members.
It’s designed by architect Louis Kahn, this 200-acre complex is one of the largest legislative buildings in the world. It is accessible via major routes, with the main South Plaza facing Manik Mia Avenue.
📍Dohar is located in the southwestern part of Dhaka District, close to the Padma River. The road distance from Gulistan to Dohar is approximately 60 kilometres. The total population of Dohar, including both urban and rural areas, is around 250,000 people. Sundari Para (Sundoripara) is a village / locality in the Kushumhati Union of Dohar Upazil. Traditional cow races are very popular in at the Sundori Para playground, and generate great enthusiasm among the local public.

শীতের সকালে ফুপাতো ভাই মুকুলের সঙ্গে কাটানো মুহূর্তগুলো যেন অনন্য এক গল্প। আমরা দুজনেই প্রায় সমবয়সী এবং ভালো বন্ধু । গ্রামের বাড়িতে গেলে ওর সঙ্গ খুব উপভোগ করি আমি ।
এবারের ছুটিতে সবাইকে নিয়ে গ্রামের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে গেলে তার ব্যতিক্রম হয়নি। মুকুল এবং তার পরিবারের অসাধারন আতিথেয়তা আমাদের মুগ্ধ করেছে ।
ভোর বেলায় খেজুর গাছের রস, নানা রকম পিঠা আর মজার মজার টাটকা মাছ- ভাত খেতে অসাধারণ লেগেছে । এর সব কিছুই মাটির চুলায় রান্না করা হতো। মুকুলের দুই ছেলে সাইম এবং রাফি ছিল খুবই বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ । সাইম আমাদের জন্য রাতে মাছ দিয়ে বারবিকিউ করেছিল । সেই আয়োজনটা ছিলো খুব সুন্দর ।
ঢেউ- মেঘের জন্য রাতের বেলা গ্রামের পথে ঘুরে বেড়ানো ছিল নতুন এক অভিজ্ঞতা । ঝোনাকি পোকা দেখা, কবরস্থান থেকে শেয়ালের ডাক ভেসে আসা আরো কতো কতো অভিজ্ঞতার ঝুলি ! ওদের সেইসব গল্প না হয় অন্য কোনো এক সময় বলা যাবে ।
Witness My Time” আমার ফটোগ্রাফি ও ভিজ্যুয়াল স্টোরিটেলিংয়ের একটি চলমান প্রক্রিয়া, যেখানে আমি আমার সময়ের সাক্ষী হতে চাই। প্রতিটি ছবি একটি নির্দিষ্ট মুহূর্ত, ইতিহাস, সংস্কৃতি ও মানুষের জীবনের বাস্তবতা ধারণ করে। এই কাজ মূলত একটি ভিজ্যুয়াল ডায়েরি—যেখানে সময়, সমাজ ও মানুষের গল্প নীরবে লিপিবদ্ধ হয়।
আমি বিশ্বাস করি, ফটোগ্রাফি শুধু মুহূর্ত ধরে রাখার মাধ্যম নয়; এটি চিন্তা জাগায়, প্রশ্ন তোলে এবং বাস্তবতাকে নতুনভাবে দেখতে শেখায়। ছবির প্রতিটি ফ্রেমের সঙ্গে একটি প্রসঙ্গ ও দায়বদ্ধতা যুক্ত থাকে, যা একজন ফটোগ্রাফারের নৈতিক অবস্থানকে নির্দেশ করে।
“Witness My Time” তাই শুধু ছবি নয়—এটি সময়ের দলিল, মানুষের সাক্ষ্য এবং ভবিষ্যতের জন্য রেখে যাওয়া এক সত্যের চিহ্ন। আমার এই ছবিটি তুলেছে প্রিয় সন্তান মেঘ । মেঘকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই এই ছবিটি তোলার জন্যে ।

মায়ের ইন্তেকালের পর আমরা গভীর শোক ও ভারাক্রান্ত হৃদয় নিয়ে মাকে গোসল করিয়ে ঢাকায় তাঁর প্রথম জানাজা সম্পন্ন করি। সবকিছু যেন অদ্ভুত লাগছিল—বিশ্বাস করতে কষ্ট হচ্ছিল যে এটাই মায়ের সঙ্গে আমাদের শেষ আনুষ্ঠানিকতা।
এরপর ভোরের নিস্তব্ধ আলোয় আমরা গ্রামের বাড়ির উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা হই। মায়ের নিথর দেহবাহী অ্যাম্বুলেন্সে আমি আর বড় মামা নীরবে বসে ছিলাম। চারপাশের নিস্তব্ধতার মাঝে শুধু বুকভরা কান্না আর অসীম শূন্যতা নিয়ে আমরা মায়ের শেষ যাত্রার সঙ্গী হয়েছিলাম।
আমাদের গ্রামের বাড়ির আঙিনা সেদিন ছিল শোকের নীরবতায় আচ্ছন্ন। মায়ের জানাজার সময় আমাদের সব কাজিন ও আত্মীয়-স্বজনেরা দূর-দূরান্ত থেকে এসে একত্রিত হয়েছিলেন— হিজুলিয়াতে।
সবার চোখে ছিল অশ্রু, হৃদয়ে ছিল গভীর বেদনা—প্রিয় মাকে শেষ বিদায় জানানোর ভারী মুহূর্ত। মেঘ এবং ঢেউয়ের চোখে ছিল গভীর বেদনা তারা তাদের প্রিয় দাদীকে হারিয়ে খুব নীরবে হয়ে গিয়েছিল!
২০২৫ সালের ১৫ মে, বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেল ৪টা ২০ মিনিটে আমাদের প্রাণপ্রিয় মা জননী এই পৃথিবীর মায়া ত্যাগ করে মহান আল্লাহর ডাকে সাড়া দেন। তাঁর শূন্যতা আমাদের জীবনে এক অপূরণীয় শূন্যতা হয়ে থাকবে।
এর অনেক আগেই, ১৯৯০ সালের ২০ ডিসেম্বর, আমাদের প্রিয় বাবা আমাদের ছেড়ে চলে গেছেন। বাবা-মা দু’জনের স্মৃতি আজও আমাদের হৃদয়ে অমলিন, তাঁদের ভালোবাসা ও আদর্শই আমাদের চলার পথের শক্তি।
Extremely sad news to hear that legendary British documentary photographer Martin Parr—has passed away at the age of 73. He was diagnosed with cancer in May 2021.

I stand with one of my favorite personalities, the renowned photographer, photo editor and educator Abir Abdullah. I must say—there is no doubt about his gentle nature and kindness.
Yesterday, I visited his solo photography exhibition ‘Troubling Rain’ at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka — where journalistic images transformed into poetic expressions on the gallery walls.
At the same time, I had the opportunity to conduct a brief interview with him, which I hope to share with my friends on social media soon. I also collected his exhibition brochure, where he explained why this project matters so deeply today.
He wrote: “Over the past two decades, I have turned my lens to the monsoon—a season celebrated in Bengali literature through countless poems and songs, praised for its beauty, rhythm, and romance. But beyond the lyrical and the romantic lies another, less documented reality: the disruptions, hardships, and quiet struggles that rain brings to everyday life.”
Cyclone Rimal has started to affect in the Dhaka city since this morning. It is torrential rain with stormy wind, water has accumulated somewhere on the streets. I put on a raincoat and went out on my motorcycle and to go to Drik for Bangladesh Press Photo Contest 2024 judging. I reached Drik on time. Other judges arrived, after a while our judging is started.
Here is my short observation about this Press Photo Contest as a judge: Photojournalists of Bangladesh participated in this Press Photo contest as they proved once again how powerful a single image is ! Which surpasses other branches of Press Media.
Its importance can be understood by looking at the award-winning pictures and the displayed pictures. Because they give new ideas to photojournalists, photo editors and newspaper editors and readers as well as those who involved in the news media industry.
