আমি তখন জীবনানন্দ দাশের ‘ঝরা পালক’ নিয়ে সবে বসেছি, আমার জানালার পাশে—সঙ্গে এক মগ চা । নাহ ! তাদের ঐ রকম ডাকাডাকিতে আর ঘরে বসে— থাকা গেল না ! মন বারবার তাড়া দিচ্ছিল, একবার না হয় দেখে আসি অলকানন্দা, কুঞ্জলতা আর কাঠবেলিরা—কি করছে ! এই বৃষ্টিতে !
মনে মনে যা ভেবেছিলাম, তাই হলো । দাপটে বাতাসের জোড়ে ! নিজেকে স্বাধীন ভেবে ! গাছের সাথে সকল সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করে ; বৃষ্টি-জলে দিব্বি সাঁতার কাটছে ! হায় —অলকানন্দা !
আর এদিকে—কুঞ্জলতার দল, বৃষ্টি-জলে ভিজে ভিজে তার সোনালী ডানা মেলে ধরেছে। আকাশে উড়বে বলে ! আমি যখন এসব দেখছি, হঠাৎ করেই চোখে পড়ল দলটিকে ! তারা আমার প্রতিবেশী । বৃষ্টি থেমে যাবার পর; জমে থাকা বৃষ্টি-জলে নাইতে নেমেছে দলটি ! আমি এদেরকে—ধুসর কষ্ট বলে ডাকি . . .
এক টুকরো— নীল খামের চিঠি বুক পকেটে নিয়ে বেড়িয়ে পড়লাম, শরৎ দেখবো বলে ! এই নগরীর বুকে আর সেই অমল, ধবল শরতের দেখা মেলে না । তবু—শহরের পিচ ঢালা পথ ছেড়ে মাটির গন্ধ মাখা পথ ধরে ধরে চলে যাই—নদীর পাড়ে । তারপর ঐ দূরে ! এখানে হাটতে হাটতে দেখা মেলে— ফুটে থাকা অফুরান কাশ ফুল—সেই গঙ্গা ফড়িং আর ভাত শালিকের । রুপালী রৌদ্দুর নীলাকাশে সাদা মেঘের দল ছুটে আসে। আর তখন মনে পরে, সঙ্গে রাখা বুক পকেটের—সেই নীল খামের চিঠি !

রামপাল কয়লাভিত্তিক বিদ্যুৎ প্রকল্পসহ ‘দেশবিরোধী’ সব চুক্তি বাতিলের দাবিতে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয় অভিমুখে তেল-গ্যাস-খনিজ সম্পদ ও বিদ্যুৎ-বন্দর রক্ষা জাতীয় কমিটির পূর্বঘোষিত বিক্ষোভ মিছিল ছত্রভঙ্গ করে দেয় পুলিশ। গত ২৮ তারিখে এই কর্মসূচিতে চলাকালে পুলিশের সঙ্গে ধস্তাধস্তি ও কাঁদানে গ্যাসের শেলের আঘাতে অন্তত শতাধিক ব্যক্তি এবং পথচারী আহত হয়েছেন বলে দাবি করেছেন জাতীয় কমিটির নেতারা। তাঁরা বলেন, এ সময় ছয়জন বিক্ষোভকারীকে আটক করা হয়েছে।
জাতীয় কমিটির আহ্বায়ক প্রকৌশলী শেখ মুহাম্মদ শহীদুল্লাহর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত এই সমাবেশের শুরুতে কমিটির সদস্যসচিব অধ্যাপক আনু মুহাম্মদ বলেন, ‘প্রধানমন্ত্রীর যদি দেশের প্রতি, দেশের জনগণের প্রতি বিন্দুমাত্র দায়বদ্ধতা থাকে, তাহলে তাঁকে অনুরোধ করব, তিনি যেন সুন্দরবন-বিনাশী এই প্রকল্প বাতিল করেন।’ এ সময় তিনি প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে উদ্দেশ করে লেখা একটি খোলাচিঠি পাঠ করেন।

Though the festival takes place on the mid night of Chaitra Songkranti, the preparation phase usually starts before one month of the day. In Bangladesh, it is frequently found to take place at Thakurgaon, Patuakkhali,Gazipur, Dhaka and other district in villages and cities.

The arrangement team of the festival go from village to village to procure the necessary components like paddy, oil, sugar, salt, honey, money and other items with the arranged cosmetics such as Shiva, Parvati and Narod.On midnight of the Songkranti, the worshippers are gathered together to worship the God and after puja the or asad is distributed.
