We, the national and international photojournalists and Pathshala teachers, posed for a group photo with Anna Kuéma, Program Manager of the World Press Photo Foundation, after her insightful presentation and discussion in two separate sessions on WPP Education and the upcoming World Press Photo Contest 2025 submission guidelines, among other topics.
Cyclone Rimal has started to affect in the Dhaka city since this morning. It is torrential rain with stormy wind, water has accumulated somewhere on the streets. I put on a raincoat and went out on my motorcycle and to go to Drik for Bangladesh Press Photo Contest 2024 judging. I reached Drik on time. Other judges arrived, after a while our judging is started.
Here is my short observation about this Press Photo Contest as a judge: Photojournalists of Bangladesh participated in this Press Photo contest as they proved once again how powerful a single image is ! Which surpasses other branches of Press Media.
Its importance can be understood by looking at the award-winning pictures and the displayed pictures. Because they give new ideas to photojournalists, photo editors and newspaper editors and readers as well as those who involved in the news media industry.
Once again thanks to Drik and all the judges, the organizing team of Bangladesh Press Photo Contest 2024.

Recently I visited the Drik gallery to see the Photography exhibition on the history of photography practices in the Khulna district. And I am willing to say that each and every photo lover and photographer carefully visit in this valuable photographic exhibition especially young photographer get some ideas and learn more from this exhibition.
I think it is a unique photography exhibition, especially how a single photograph speaks and turns into valuable history, during my visit to Drik gallery each and every picture was closely read and observed. I saw many pictures of during 1962, 1965, 1970, and the Liberation War 1971, and later have been placed in the show. Most of the photographs are from the personal collection of photographers and studios in Khulna, apart from it I really appreciate the way of presentation and their research methods.
The exhibition focuses on the evolution of photography in Khulna between 1930 and 2000. Along with that, 170 photographs dating back half a century was selected for display at the show.
I think the curated part also has an important role to display the exhibition and of course, the place of the gallery is a matter. And I would like to say that Drik gallery deserves it for displaying, and presenting any kind of Artwork for the exhibition. Their staff also professionally handles with good care for any Artwork.
The exhibition was curated by internationally acclaimed photographer Shahidul Alam and curator SM Rezaur Rahman. Drik organized the photography exhibition.
Thank you to all the photographers, organizers, curators, and those who research this valuable photography exhibition in the Khulna district. The exhibition will remain open to all every day from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm till 19 March 2023 at Drik gallery in Dhaka.
