Victory Day Celebration 2017

Summery: In 1971,16 December is our Victory Day. Liberation War is our pride. The nation celebrated the 47th Victory Day paying rich tributes to the Liberation War martyrs with a call for unity to build a country free from militancy, extremism and communal-ism. On this day in 1971, the Pakistan Army surrendered to the allied forces of Bangladesh and India in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan after nine months of war during which three million people were killed, two lakh women were raped and around 10 million people took refuge in India.

বাবা—আমার ঘুম পাচ্ছে ! তখন রাত হয়ে গেছে, আমি মেঘ’কে নিয়ে মটরসাইকেল চালিয়ে বাসায় ফিরছি । আমি বললাম, বাবা—আমরা চলে এসেছি, আর একটু পরেই বাসায় ঢুকবো । মেঘ বলে—বাবা, জানো আমার কেন ঘুম পাচ্ছে ? আমি বললাম, না—সে বলে আমিতো আজ দুপুরে ঘুমাই নাই—তাই ঘুম পাচ্ছে !

আজ মেঘ আর আমি মটরসাইকেল নিয়ে বেড়িয়ে ছিলাম । সে বলে তোমার মটর সাইকেলে অনেকদিন আমি ঘুরতে বের হই না ! গিয়েছিলাম বেগম রোকেয়া এভিনিউ সড়কের বিসিএস কম্পিউটার সিটিতে । ক্যাননের মামুন ভাইয়ের সাথে একটা কাজ ছিল । মটর সাইকেলে যেতে যেতে বাপ-বেটা মিলে নানা কথা বলছিলাম ।

সাপ্তাহিক দিনটি বৃহস্পতিবার থাকায় সড়কে যানজটের অবস্থা ছিল যথারিত— ভয়াবহ ! কম্পিউটার সিটিতে কাজ শেষ করে বেড়িয়ে পড়লাম । আমাদের এখন গন্তব্য শিল্পকলা একাডেমী— প্রথম আলোর তরুণ আলোকচিত্রীদের শরনাগত—বাস্তচ্যুত রোহিঙ্গা শীর্ষক আলোচিত্র প্রদর্শনী দেখা । প্রদর্শনীতে গিয়ে দেখা হলো সুমন ইউসুফ, আশরাফুল আলম আর আবদুস সালামের সাথে । প্রদর্শনী নিয়ে কথা হলো ওদের সাথে ।

প্রদর্শনীটি কিউরেট করেছেন—ফটোসাংবাদিক আবীর আবদুল্লাহ । প্রদর্শনীর ছবি গুলো দেখে আমার কাছে মনে হয়েছে—দৈনিক সংবাদপত্রের জন্য এটা—এক ধরনের ডকুমেন্টেশন বা প্রামানিক দলিল । যদিও এই তরুণ ফটোসাংবাদিকদের কাছ থেকে আরও শক্তিশালী কাজ আশা করছিলাম ।

ফটোসাংবাদিকদের সব সময় একটা চাপের মধ্যে থেকে কাজ করতে হয় । সময় মতো ঘটনাস্থলে পৌছান, সঠিক অবস্থান নেওয়া, সঠিক ছবিটি তুলতে পারার পাশাপাশি তা সময় মতো অফিসে পাঠানো, পুরো প্রক্রিয়াটি একটা বড় মুন্সিয়ানার পরিচয় বহন করে— যা কাজ করতে করতে নিজের মধ্যে গড়ে উঠে ।

সময় উপযোগী প্রদর্শনীটির জন্য আয়োজক প্রথম আলো পত্রিকা, প্রদর্শনীর কিউরেট আবীর আবদুল্লাহ এবং সকল ফটোসাংবাদিকদের আমার পক্ষ থেকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই . . .

বর্ষাকালে সুন্দরবনে বন্য প্রাণী দেখার জন্য –আসলেই উত্তম সময়। আমি এই বর্ষায় সুন্দরবনে না গেলে, তার সেই সব সৌন্দর্য্য গুলো উপভোগ করতে পারতাম না ! আমাদের জাহাজ তখন সুন্দরী খালে নোঙ্গর করা ছিল। দুপুরের খাবার শেষ করে; আমরা জাহাজের ডেকে বসে ছিলাম, অসল ভঙ্গীতে । তখন দেখলাম–আকাশ কালো করে বনের উপর দিয়ে মেঘের দল ছুটে যাচ্ছে– কোন এক দুরের দেশে ! অসাধারন সেই ল্যান্ডস্কেপ ! যদিও মাত্র কয়েক সেকেন্ড ছিল–সেই দৃশ্যকাব্য ! তারপর শুরু হলো–ঝুম বৃষ্টি ! আমাদের কেউ কেউ সেই দৃশ্য-কাব্যের ছবি তোলার জন্য দৌড়ে ক্যামেরা আনতে গেলে; ততোক্ষণে তা মিলিয়ে গেছে–কোথায় ! আমি তখন অসাধারন সেই দৃশ্য কাব্যের মুহূর্তটি ধরে রাখতে চাইলাম– প্যানারোমিক ভিউতে ! 

যদিও টুরিষ্টদের জন্য বর্ষাকাল–সুন্দরবনে বেড়ানো জন্য উপযুক্ত সময় নয় । কারণ–কালবৈশাখী ঝড়, নিম্নচাপ, জলোচ্ছাস সহ নানা কারণে বনের পরিবেশ এবং জীবন হয়ে উঠে অন্যরকম ! বনে বেড়ানো তখন ঝুকিপূর্ণ হয়ে যায় ! তবে যারা বন’কে ভালোবাসে–প্রকৃতি প্রেমী; তাদের কথা আলাদা ! কবি গুরু– রবীন্দ্র নাথ ঠাকুর বর্ষার রুপ দেখতে তার ছোট বোটে নিয়ে– উত্তাল পদ্মা ঘুরে বেড়িয়েছেন; দেখেছেন পদ্মা পারের সেই সব জীবন-গাঁথার গল্প . . .

সুন্দরবনের কটকা এলাকায় বন্যপ্রাণীর ছবি তুলতে একটা রেঞ্জে বসে অপেক্ষা করছি । ছবিটি তুলেছেন, আলোকচিত্রী ( ডকুমেন্ট্রি এবং ট্রাভেল ফটোগ্রাফার ) নুর আহমেদ জিলাল । সুন্দরবনের নানা জীববৈচিত্রের ছবি তুলতে এ বছরের আগষ্ট ২০১৭ মাসে সুন্দরবন গিয়েছিলাম । ওয়াইল্ড লাইফ ফটোগ্রাফী করতে গিয়ে নানা অভিজ্ঞতা হলো । আমাদের— দলটি বনের নানা জায়গায় ঘুরে বেড়িয়েছি—ছবি তোলা হলো, সুন্দরবন সম্পকে আরো জানা হলো দেখা হলো—নানা জীববৈচিত্রের । 
সপ্তাহ জুড়ে বেঙ্গল ট্যুরের জাহাজ এম ভি ডিঙি’তে ঘুরে বেড়ানোর অভিজ্ঞতাটা ছিল অসাধারন । আমাদের প্রতিদিন ভোর রাতে অর্থ্যাৎ ৪.৩০ / ৫.০০ মধ্যে ঘুম থেকে উঠতে হতো । জাহাজ থেকে নেমে ছোট বোটে করে সুন্দরবনের ছোট খাল গুলিতে বন্যপ্রাণী দেখতে এবং ছবি তুলতে বের হতাম । জোয়ার-ভাটা বিষয়টি মাথায় রাখতে হতো । বন বিশেষজ্ঞদের মতে—সুন্দরবনে বন্যপ্রাণী দেখার জন্য উত্তম সময় হচ্ছে বর্ষা কাল . . .

জয়নুলের ব্রহ্ম পুত্র নদে . . .

ময়মনসিংহের বর পুত্র শিল্পাচার্য জয়নুল আবেদিনের ব্রহ্ম পুত্র নদে— গোধূলি বেলায়, মাঝি ভাসাইয়াছে তার ছোট তরি— যাত্রীরা পারাপার . . . 

বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাংবাদিক সমিতি আয়োজিত কর্মশালাটি শেষ করে আমরা ঘুরতে বেড়িয়ে ছিলাম। দেখা হলো বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ক্যাম্পাস, জব্বারের চত্তর, ব্রহ্ম পুত্র নদ । বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তার ৫৭ বছর উদযাপন উপলক্ষে প্রস্তুতি চলছিল, কথা হলো অনেকের সাথে । বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ফটোগ্রাফী ক্লাবটির সদস্যদের উদ্যোগে ক্যাম্পাসে চলছিল ফটোগ্রাফী প্রদর্শনী । সদস্যরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নানা জায়গার ছবি তুলেছেন । সেটা দেখলাম । প্রদর্শনীর ছবি গুলো দেখে মনে হলো—অংশগ্রহণকারীরা চেষ্টা করেছেন তাদের ক্যাম্পাসটির পুরো চিত্রটি এক দেয়ালে বন্দী করতে । আমার কাছে মনে হলো— ক্ষেত্র বিশেষে তারা অনেকটাই সফল হয়েছেন, তাদেরকে সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই। 

ব্রহ্ম পুত্র নদে ছোট ছোট রঙিন পাল তোলা নৌকা গুলো অসাধারন ! লাল, সবুজ, হলুদ নানা রঙের সব পাল ; নদে ভেসে বেড়ানোর জন্য এ সব পালতোলা নৌকাই উত্তম, তবে সাঁতার জানাটা জরুরী ! দীর্ঘ বছর পর আবার এই নদে বেড়ানো হলো। সবার সাথে সময়টি খুব চমৎকার কাটলো । 

আমি বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য ড. মো. আলী আকবর সহ আয়োজক কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাংবাদিক সমিতির সকলকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই । বিশেষ করে করে ধন্যবাদ জানাই কর্মশালায় অংশগ্রহণকারী সকল সাংবাদিক— শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে । তাদের আথিতীয়তা এবং আন্তরিকতা আমাকে মুগ্ধ করেছে । আমার পক্ষ থেকে সবাইকে আবার ধন্যবাদ জানাই . . .

10 April, 2017 Dhaka, Bangladesh – Bangladeshi students of the Institute of Fine Arts in Dhaka University busy to making the colorful masks and pottery for the preparation of Bengali New Year Celebration in Bangladesh. Pahela Baishakh Bengali New Year also called Pohela Boishakh, is the traditional new year day of the Bebgali people . It is celebrated on 14 April as a national holiday in Bangladesh, and on 14 or 15 April in the India states of West Bengal, Tripura and elsewhere by people of Bengali heritage, irrespective of their religious faith. The festival date is set according to the lunisolar Bengali calendar as the first day of its first month Baishakh. In Bangladesh The UNESCO added the Mangal Shobhajatra festival on Pahela Baishakh among other new items to the safeguarding intangible cultural heritage list during their 11th session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, that runs from 28 November to 02 December.

Xl Chobi Mela in Bangladesh . . .

Chobi Mela the International Festival of Photography BANGLADESH 2017 held in Asia, Chobi Mela IX begins on the month of February 2017 with many events like workshop, photography exhibition, portfolio reviews, seminar and artist talk’s . National and International Photographer’s eagerly waits for this event which is being held every two years in Bangladesh in the capital of Dhaka.The key organisers are Drik Picture Library Ltd. and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. 

In the photography and art works hailing from 16 countries — Algeria, Germany, India, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, Thailand, USA amongst others Chobi Mela is an international festival of photography held in this year.

Festival derictor Shahidul Alam, said to the media, “The global photography spotlight is on Bangladesh. The stars are arriving at our doorstep. It is now up the podium. The world of photography beckons”.

I am as a Pathshala fellow photographer, teacher and visual artist to join in this beautiful event and to visit an interesting exhibitions all vanues and participate artist’s talk during the Chobi Mela festival and captured a few moments which I never ignored. Love Chobi Mela and hope to join the next event which will be held in 2020. Thanks Chobi Mela team and the organizer. Such a beautiful event held in my country Bangladesh.

Participants attended first day of Chobi Mela Festival, the international festival of photography and biggest photography event in Asia on February 3, 2017 in Dhaka.
