04 July 2012 Dhaka. Bangladesh- Bangladeshi Police recover two dead bodies form the spot at midnight. Top listed criminal “ Dakat” Shahid and one his accomplices were killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion at Luxmibazar in Old Dhak last night ( 03 July) Rab’s Legal and Media Wing Director Commander M Sohail told meida. Shahid was accused in 18 cases, including six for murder, according to Rab. © Monirul Alam

Limon gets artificial leg . . .

 Limon Hossain of Jhalakathi tries to walk with an artificial leg yesterday at  Ganoshasthya Nagar Hospital in Dhaka on 29 august 2011.Limon Hossain, a college student who was shot and maimed by Rab five months ago, was fitted with an artificial leg in the technical team of Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) in Savar. A Rapid Action Battalion team on March 23 shot the 16-year-old boy in the left leg when he was taking his cows to a grazing field at Chhaturia village of Jhalakathi. After four days, the leg had to be amputated from the thigh to stop the spread of infection due to excessive bleeding. August 2011. © Monirul Alam

RAB gun down 5 | dhaka

It was around 9.30 pm I look around with my office and saw our news paper layout which it will be published next day, suddenly my news editors told me, RAB killed 5 muggers in Uttar please move on as early as possible, and maybe we lead that news. I left my office within minutes with my camera and ride my motorbike as faster to cover on the spot in the city of Uttra 13 sector near Mascot Plaza, at Sonargaon Janapath.

When I went there, I saw number of plane cloth security forces and RAB personals cordoned enter the area with the yellow ribbon which written “Crime Scene Do Not Cross” 4 deceased already sent to the Dhaka medical morgue and 1 rushed to local hospital and two alleged mugger arrest on the spot in Ran custody.

On the spot I took a picture a private car with blood spotted on the sits, broken car widows with bullet holes at the same time I took several pictures which I remarked. When I talked one witness he said, soon after fired pedestrian ran away in panic after that the law enforces cordoned off the spots and media was covered. I saw number of local’s gather and to watching the situation some time security forces try to left the scene but curious people still stand and watching.  Within half an hour’s I leave on the spot and move to Dhaka Medical College to cover on 5 deceased.

The road was fully rushed with huge number of vehicle some time I escape some time I stuck with traffic jam, at last I reach on the Medial morgue and covered 5 deceased. Already my news editors phoned me and they just wait for my picture which is published on the next day. .  .

Solidarity for Limon | bangladesh

Songkhubdho Nagorik Samaj, a platform to protect human rights, demanded withdrawal of cases against Limon Hossain who lost a leg in Rab shooting late March. The organizers have pledged to continue their protests until the government withdraw the false cases against Limon Hossein and provide adequate compensation for the loss of his leg.

They also called in protest against the government’s contract with ConocoPhillips signed on June 16 the deal awarded gas exploration and extraction rights to the US energy giant in two deep sea blocks in the Bay of Bengal.

At a protest rally, they also demanded strong security for 16-year-old Limon and his family members, and punishment of the accused.Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), on March 23, mistook Limon, a college student, for a criminal and shot him in the left leg at the village of Chhaturia in Jhalakathi Bangladesh.
