মায়া ছবির গল্প . . .

তখন আমি স্কুলে পড়ি । সময় কালটা এখন মনে করতে পারছি না । তবে এটা মনে আছে ঈদের ছুটিতে আমার গ্রামের বাড়িতে ঈদ করতে গিয়েছিলাম আমরা সবাই — আমি সঙ্গে নিয়ে ছিলাম জাপানি ইয়াশিকা কমপ্যাক্ট পয়েন্ট-অ্যান্ড-শুট ক্যামেরাটি।

তখন এই ক‍্যামেরা খুব জনপ্রিয় হয়েছিল। মামার কাছ থেকে এই কামেরাটি ধার করেছিলাম, ছবি তুলবো বলে । যতোদূর মনে পরে গ্রামে গিয়ে অনেক অনেক ছবি তুলেছিলাম এই ক‍্যামেরা দিয়ে, সেসব অনেক ছবি, নেগেটিভ হারিয়ে ফেলেছি আবার কিছু খুঁজে পাওয়া গেছে।

এই দুটি ছবির নেপথ্য গল্প গুলো অনেকটা এরকম —কোন এক ঈদের ছুটিতে আমাদের গ্রামের বাড়ি হিজুলিয়াতে এই ছবিগুলো তুলেছিলাম। ঈদের মাঠে নামাজ পড়ার আগে। আমাদের বাড়ির সামনে সবাইকে অনুরোধ করে এই ছবি গুলো তুলেছিলাম। আমার চাচা এই ছবি তুলতে খুব উৎসাহ দিয়েছিলেন আমাকে। আর বাবা ছিলেন নিলিপ্ত ! দাদা বেশ অসুস্থ ছিলেন তখন ।

বাম পাশ থেকে আমার চাচা। চাচা এখন অবসরপ্রাপ্ত । সরকারি দেবেন্দ্র কলেজ, মানিকগঞ্জ অধ্যক্ষ ছিলেন। ২০০৭ সালে চাচা অবসরপ্রাপ্ত হন। তারপর দাদা এবং আমাদের বাবা দুজনেই পৃথিবী থেকে চিরবিদায় নিয়েছেন অনেক আগেই।

🎙️ On Assignment: While covering the Eid-e-Miladunnabi rally in front of Doel Chattar, I suddenly slipped and fell on the street and felt unwell for a while. My fellow photojournalist Ahad Ahadul Karim Khan Ahad from Dhaka Tribune immediately helped me. I am deeply grateful to him.

After regaining myself and returning to work, my other colleague Habib Habibur Rahman from Xinhua captured this moment. I looked a little shaken and exhausted in the picture, but it became a moment in itself—a moment that will stay with me.

Interestingly, Habib did not even know that I had fallen before he took this photograph.

My heartfelt thanks to all my fellow photojournalists who helped me and called to check if I was okay. Your kindness and support mean a lot to me.

Never Stop Learning  . . .

I am truly delighted and honored to have the opportunity to work with Public Relations Branch of Bangladesh Police Headquarters . I consider this two-day photography training workshop, organized by the Media and Public Relations Branch of Bangladesh Police Headquarters, to be a timely and highly important initiative.

I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the respected authorities of Police Headquarters for taking such a commendable initiative.
