
March 10, 2013 – Dhaka, Bangladesh – Bangladeshi Hindu devotees perform rituals to celebrate Maha Shivaratri, the great night of Shiva, at a temple in Narayangonj Kali Mandi on the outskirts of Dhaka. The Hindu festival is marked by fasting and offering prayers in a night-long vigil. Maha Shivaratri, literally meaning the night of Shiva, is celebrated on the 13th night and 14th day of the Maagha or Phalguna month of the Hindu calendar every year with an aim to please the all powerful Lord Shiva. © Monirul Alam
